Preparing Crushed Ice

If you need crushed ice yet have no access to an ice-crusher, you have 2 options:

Procedures

1. You can either use an electric blender or crush the ice by hand.
2. If you decided to use an electric blender, you should have to aware that, unless you have a very heavy duty model with a sharp blade, crushing ice in your blender could damage it.
3. Remember that when making blended drinks, you have quite a bit of liquid mix, with an act as catalyst in the process, thereby taking some strain off your blender.
4. To crush ice by hand, simply fill a plastic bag with ice and wrap a towel around the bag.
5. Place the bag and towel on a counter or table and crush the ice either with a rolling pin (By rolling over the bag) or by hitting the bag with a blunt object such as mallet, hammer or the barrel end of the bar.
