Taking drink order
Standard
Observe body language, as guest may often place the drink list down onto the table signally they are ready to order.
Taking guest’s order, you should write the ordinal number, effective coding system is numbering chairs facing the entrance is always numbered as seat No 1.
Procedures
Since our procedure is ladies first, you may start taking orders according to the sequence then proceed clockwise always, finish all women first, then male guests and lastly (if known) host/ess.
In the bar or lounge with a table with more than one guest, look for a distinguishing feature in a guest, e.g. bright red jumper, only female, only bearded man, only person with glass, etc.
Approaching a table with more than one guest start with ladies first
Approach guest on their right side
Mention special of the day or other promotional items.
If guest still undecided excuse yourself and give guest more time. Do not make the guest feel that he/she is being hurried.
If the guest gives a signal that they are ready to order, approach the lady first on her right hand side then start writing according to sequence and circle the corresponding seat number for ladies only.
In taking beverage order, always stand upright. Do not lean on tables and chairs. Listen carefully to each order.
Always repeat the order after guest ordered

If more than one guest orders the same drink, place their corresponding number along side the same drink order and increase the quantity ordered by one extra
Example: 2X Gin and Tonic (1), (3)
With this ordered both females in positions (1) and (3) ordered Gin and Tonic. Man is sitting No 2 has beer.
